I'm Shooting in the Rain

While using the studio is great for getting certain shots, shooting outdoors offers a wonderful ambiance and great color variety in portrait backgrounds. But what do you do when it's raining on the day of your portrait session. When it comes to senior portraits, this can be a great opportunity to get some photos that your friends might not have - shooting out in the rain (as long as it isn't storming out and you don't mind getting wet). Since senior portrait sessions all come with both studio and outdoor shots, you can still shoot your favorite outfits inside with your hair neatly styled first before heading out.

Here are 2 sample rain shots. The first I took out in the rain at Forest Park. The second isn't mine and probably was not taken in the rain, but is a great idea for a fashion shot that could be taken out in the rain.

Photo Contest

Everyone loves contests and a chance to win something! At Dazen Imaging we have launched a photo competition on our Facebook Page. This is the first in a series of contests we plan to host where clients can upload photos from their sessions with us and try to get the most people to vote for their photo. This first contest is an open category - any photo is eligible, and will run through June 10th. We will also be offering both a first and second place prize for this contest - an Amazon $50 gift card to the top voted photo and a $25 gift card to the second place photo.
